Above photos are from garment manufacturers whose shipment got rejected!

When the buyers opened the shipment to check, they found the garments with Heavy Mould (Fungus) Growth on them.

The shipments were instantly rejected. The suppliers had to face hefty penalties. Some had to close their doors! But don’t worry we have a solution for you! Follow that & your garments will never be prone to fungal growth.

How do we know this? Because we have been in the business of Narrow Fabric Manufacturing for 60 Years now. We have seen the evolution of the textile industry from being completely unorganized to becoming one of the most organized industries in the world.

How the quality parameters have risen from 0 to 100. We have seen all that & evolved accordingly. Some might think only the fabric part is prone to fungal growth. But no! Garment is nothing but an assembly of a lot of textile products. The labels can catch fungus! The stitching can catch fungus! The padding can catch fungus! Even the elastic can catch fungus! And even if one of the above things happens, the entire shipment will get rejected. Therefore, we want that you all are know about the Narrow Fabrics Manufacturing Company to buy good quality of products and elastic.

A little elastic worth not even 1% of the garment can cost you millions! So what shall we do?

But before that, we need to know what causes fungal growth in garments. There are a couple of reasons.

1. Wet Garments Got Packed

Every garment before packing goes through a thorough wash. If the garment is not completely dried off before packaging, fungal growth can occur.

2. Packing Is Not Airtight

Shipments are usually done by sea. Air shipments only happen in cases of late deliveries. For a month or two your garments sail through the sea. If the packing is not airtight your garments can react to the moisture in the atmosphere which can cause fungal growth.

3. Your garments or garment accessories are not treated with antifungal chemicals

There are chances your shipment gets accepted. But if the buyer gets continuous complaints from their customers about fungal growth on garments after washing you can face penalties and lose future orders. This happens if the garment or any of the garment accessories are not treated with antifungal chemicals.

THE EASY SOLUTION

So how do we prevent this? It’s easy just follow these three steps

1. Check the microns of your Packing Plastic

The thickness of your plastic packing should be at least above 75 microns. With more thickness, your plastic bags are much more resistant to wear & tear. And are even recyclable, hence eco-friendly as well!

2. Get Your Garment & Its Garment Accessories Fungal Treated

Many manufacturers are supplying eco-friendly and garment-safe antifungal chemicals. Ask your garment accessories suppliers to finish their fabric products with this chemical & you’ll never face a problem with fungal growth. FYI, we are experts in anti-fungal treatment.

3. Double Check On Packing Line

Packing is the most important part of a garment shipment in progress. If packing is not perfect the entire hard work you put in making that garment will go to waste. Placing an extra supervisor on the packing floor who’ll randomly check packed garments for any kind of wetness will solve the problem. He can randomly pick 10 packed pieces. Check 3, If all are dry then the entire 10 get approved. If even 1 is wet. All are checked. And we are properly trying to fix all of this fault and mistakes. Always remember Jain Narrow Fabrics.

So next time you send any shipment follow the above steps diligently & you’ll never face a problem with mold.
